Since 1974 Textilchemie Dr. Petry GmbH has been producing auxiliaries for textile finishing. The headquarters of our innovative family business is located in southern Germany in the city of Reutlingen. We develop and manufacture textile chemicals for dyeing, finishing, coating, printing, and the pretreatment of natural and synthetic fibers. We also supply sizing agents, yarn lubricants, specialty products and pigments for garment finishing. High quality is our priority during development and production of our specialized products. Through close contact with our international customers, we are able to provide the best quality products and innovative processes. Our specialists, textile engineers and chemists, offer professional consulting services and provide prompt individual technological application solutions.

Textilchemie Dr. Petry GmbH is an internationally active chemical company. Our service and development departments are located in Reutlingen. In addition, we run subsidiaries in Switzerland, Turkey and China. We produce textile auxiliaries like softners, hydophobic agents, defoamers and detergents. Furthermore we constantly develop new application-technological procedures.

Sustainable Design Project: Stabilization of Finest Knitwear with Chitosan

Tim Rühl, a student of the master’s program in knitwear design at the Institut Français de la Mode in Paris, has realized a sustainable design project in cooperation with the fashion house Alexander McQueen and Kering. To stabilize the fashionable creation made of the finest knitwear and make it wearable, the designer sprayed the delicate yarns with PERIPRET CTS liq., our GOTS-certified chitosan cold sizing agent.

PERLAVIN SRS/N for the Aftersoaping of Reactive Dyeings at Low Temperatures

PERLAVIN SRS/N is an innovative soaping agent for aftersoaping reactive dyeings and prints. The product is very effective even in the presence of high salt concentrations. It can be used at low soaping temperatures. This means that the goods can be soaped without intensive rinsing beforehand. In most cases, one single soaping step with PERLAVIN SRS/N is sufficient to achieve very good fastness levels.

Moisture Management, Clothing Physiology and Wearing Comfort of Clothing

For optimal comfort, clothing should support the physiological processes in the human body, and regulate heat and moisture. In the cold, it should keep the body warm. Textile Auxiliaries and Process Recommendations for Wet Finishing of Lyocell Fibers

Lyocell (CLY) is a cellulosic fiber sourced from wood pulp. This is the reason why Lyocell is a sustainable alternative to other synthetic fibers, such as polyester or polyamide, which are produced from fossil raw materials. Beyond that, Lyocell shows great clothing physiological properties. Lyocell fibers tend to fibrillation. In order to achieve an even fabric appearance and reproducible finishing results, the delicate textiles have to be treated carefully. We offer you application-technical consulting service and special products which are perfectly adapted to the wet finishing of Lyocell.

Preparation with PERIJET and PERICOAT for Digital Pigment Printing

The quality of the printing preparation and pretreatment largely determines the printing results as well as the color fastnesses in digital textile printing. Pigment printing can be applied independently of the textile substrates. Besides pigments also the binders have to be padded or printed on the textile fabrics in order to fix the pigment and to achieve the requested levels of fastness. In our joint R&D project with DITF we could obtain brilliant digital pigment prints with very good fastnesses using our PERICOAT binders and PERIJET polymers.
