Reflecting Textile Prints and Coatings with PERICOAT REFLEX

With the PERICOAT REFLEX system you can create interesting reflecting coatings and prints on technical textiles. The reflex details light up brightly when lit by car headlights, for example. The PERICOAT REFLEX system can also be used in garment finishing. Thanks to the reflecting effects on clothing items, such as children’s clothes or sportswear, the wearers can be seen better in the beam of headlights.

PERICOAT REFLEX for reflecting effects on prints and coatings of textiles

The PERICOAT REFLEX system contains two components for the production of reflecting prints and coatings: PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL and PERICOAT REFLEX BASE. PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL consists of small specially coated glass beads which can reflect incoming light. PERICOAT REFLEX BASE is the binder compound which is optimally adjusted to fix the glass spheres as permanent and wash-fast as possible on the textiles.

Increased Safety in Twilight and Dark with PERICOAT REFLEX

Due to safety reasons reflecting details are often applied on personal protective equipment (PPE), high-visibility, outdoor and children’s clothing. This way, the visibility of the wearers in the twilight and in the dark is improved. If they are lit by headlights, the PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL glass beads in the reflex prints and coatings reflect the light. In broad daylight the coatings or prints are almost invisible.

Application of PERICOAT REFLEX

PERICOAT REFLEX pastes can be applied using printing screens, coating units or spray guns. After the application the textiles are dried and the PERICOAT REFLEX BASE binder gets crosslinked. After condensation at 150 to 160 °C the soft, flexible reflecting films show a good resistance to washing. Colorful reflecting prints and colored reflex coatings can be created by adding PERICOLOR pigment colors to the printing or coating pastes.

PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL consists of glass pearls for reflecting printings and coatings.

PERICOAT REFLEX BASE

PERICOAT REFLEX BASE is the basis compound, to produce with PERICOAT REFLEX PEARL glass pearls reflective printings and coatings on textiles.
